Mr. Keith Huber began his Kokondo training in the art of Jukido Jujitsu under the tutelage of Sensei Rego in mid 2003. Since that time Mr. Huber has been deeply involved in all functions of the Florida Jukido Jujitsu Academies (FJJA) and the International Kokondo Association (IKA). Mr. Huber is among the senior students of Sensei Rego and is among the 3rd set of black belts promoted by the IKA in Florida, along with Mr. Chris Smith and Mr. Tony Kim. In addition to regular training in Jukido Jujitsu at the Palm Coast dojo, Mr. Huber is a regular attendee of the annual International Kokondo Martial Arts Seminar, as well as the annual Florida Kokondo Martial Arts Seminar lead by Shihan Arel (founder) and Master Gregory Howard. Mr. Huber also has trained in Kokondo Karate from his experiences in Kokondo.

In August 2008 Mr. Huber was promoted to rank of probationary shodan (1st degree black belt) in at the art of Jukido Jujitsu. This significant milestone was achieved at the largest and most important Kokondo event of the year, the International Seminar. His promotion took place after some significant personal/physical adversity and after five previous rank evaluations conducted by FJJA Chief Instructor, Sensei Rego. The testing process took approximately six months.

Mr. Huber is well known in the dojo for his intense work ethic and enjoyment of fast paced throwing practice. Mr. Huber is fond of throwing techniques and is quite skilled in this realm of jujitsu. As an engineer by profession (cohodesignsllc.com), Mr. Huber has a distinct ability to analyze techniques from an engineering point of view. Mr. Huber often uses his analytic skills to not only further his understanding of the instruction given and the principles of Kokondo, but is often delegated by Sensei Rego to help various students to do the same.

Additionally, Mr. Huber is known for his humor and down to earth personality. Although he is very firm as it pertains to the adherence of dojo protocol for himself and other students – he is among the first to volunteer to teach new students “the ropes” in the traditional Japanese arts of Kokondo. He is an asset and key member of the FJJA who continues his training in the dojo, at IKA events, and under the direct tutelage of private black belt classes conducted by Sensei Rego. Mr. Huber is a strong believer in the black belt symbolizing the “beginning” of a journey and not the end.
